Going to Pieces: My Reaction To Missing This Documentary On TV

I think most of us have heard of it haven’t we? Going to Pieces: The Rise and Fall of the Slasher Film, no matter if it’s the book or the documentary we’ve at least heard about it..and from what I seen of it, it was a very good horror documentary.

BUT!..notice I said, “what I seen of it” meaning I unfortunately tuned in to this on TV more than half way through it and missed a ton of it and that just upsets me. Now leave it to me to be uninformed, I’m guilty of not really doing much ahead of time checking on the ol’ TV guide. But late late into the night on Tuesday night this documentary was on one of those movie channels that I pay way waaaaay to much for.

That being said, in part of it I did see I noticed a few things, one it’s pretty good. I was very interested in what I seen of it. And two, it spoils the hell out of a lot of films..so watch at your own risk. None the less I saw a lot of my own personal favorites talked about and shown and I also seen a few films I hadn’t see before but most of those I had at least heard of. After seeing what I seen of it, it’s safe to say I’ll be tossing “The Burning” on my Christmas list, I just saw a small part of it..it could very well be the only good part of it I dunno..but either way it sold me on it none the less.

I checked but it looks like it’s not on the guide to be shown again anytime soon but if you guys can catch this on or event rent it I’d suggest you do so..very informative, very fun, but sadly very spoiler ridden. I may even go out and try to find the book of this, I don’t do much reading but when I do it’s of this or the Max Brooks nature not that of the teenage vampire trash kind.
