BET Ain’t No Place For Movies!

Well as I was snowed in at my uncle’s home (without the grand thing that is the interwebs) I decided I’d kick back and watch some T.V. and if I happen to catch any horror movies on I had yet to see I’d watch them and write up a review for the movies when I got back. This brings us to BET
Now I’ve seen the first two Leprechaun films, and both were waaaaay back when I was a kid. Now I simply had little interest in looking the other straight to video/DVDs up and checking them out. I thought for sure the series had jumped the ol’ shark when the little fellow went into space. And I have no idea why he went into the hood and I have no clue why he felt the need to go back but I actually tried my best to sit through Leprechaun: Back 2 tha Hood
For a network that at times preaches against stereotypes BET sure does show films that are full of them. I made it through about 30 minutes of this crap before I fell asleep! That’s something I rarely have ever done with a horror film so it’s a sure sign this movie was a steaming pile of crap.

Now I may be weird here I dunno but watching a Leprechaun take hits from a bong does nothing at all for me.

And you know it’s isn’t just this movie, BET shows a ton of “urban” themed crap! Don’t even get me started on the awful Somebody Help Me! I pray nightly that my pals over at Horrorphilia don’t ever ask me to review that mess.

If they insist on keeping with that the theme they go for with their “Black Buster” movie series, then how about showing Blacula? Or how about Tales From The Hood instead of Snoop Dog’s Hood of Horror or whatever that mess is called.

Every now and again they may show something half way worth seeing but I have yet to see it myself. So from here on out I’m actually going to say that BET shows worse movies than SyFy, and that my friends is saying a lot!
