Using the Netflix and Blockbuster rule for the Top 10 Horror Films this year, I’m sure some stuff was left out that those sites called thrillers that you would disagree with! So, since I did watch about a zillion movies this year, I think I am qualified enough to give to you the Top 10 “Everything Besides Horror” movie list for the year.
Both heartwarming and extremely funny, this movie has it all. It’s hard to not watch this great film and get a little misty eye’d at times.
Not a favorite by the majority, but take it from someone who has never seen the originally, this film isn’t half as bad as some might want to try to convince you it is.
People will argue and argue that Thor and X-Men were better, but for me this epic adventure of the captain is where it was at in 2011.
Pure Grindhouse cinema at it’s finest! How could anyone who loved violence not enjoy the heck out of this bloody and violent film?
Trolls aren’t horror? According to Netflix and Blockbuster, no they aren’t. Still, whatever you want to call it, you can’t deny the movie is fun and great.
When I said this one felt like this generation’s E.T., I assure you that I was not kidding. If you want to feel like a kid again, just watch Super 8.
Fans of Drive (which is most people) can take comfort in knowing this was THE best American film of the year by far. Loaded with great acting, the film tells one of the better stories told in a long time.
Who doesn’t enjoy seeing a group of ghetto-ed out kids fight aliens that look like weird monkeys? Plus, it’s not PG-13, so these kids aren’t at all safe! It only adds to the excitement.
And here we have the movie that a lot of horror sites had on top of their horror lists. But TECHNICALLY it was not a horror film. Still, it’s really awesome for what it is.
Yes, it’s a tie. And I am well aware GANTZ is listed also in the horror section, but GANTZ: The Perfect Answer, which has been released the same year isn’t. Seeing as how they pretty much combine to make one long and kick-ass movie, I feel it’s only right to let them both set on top the list.
