Sarah, a mentally-disturbed teen, has a jarring premonition of her friends’ impending deaths one night at a sleepover. As her house guests begin to turn murderously against each other, Sarah must determine whether her visions represent the preventable or the inevitable… or something entirely more sinister. This independent horror film is directed by the 2009 cult hit Necromentia director Pearry Teo.

So the new girl in town is a bit of a weird one. Her parents invite an old friend of hers to stay with her while they are gone and she invites someone else and that person invites someone else and so on and so forth. When they get there, Sarah gets a little weird and the doors all lock and nobody can get out. Sounds like a pretty bad situation huh? Truth is Dead Inside (also known as The Evil Inside for its UK DVD release) is a film that from its creative style of doing opening credits lets you know it’s just a different film. Don’t get me wrong here; we do have some somewhat typical things that go down here. Still, you cannot help but notice some very creative writing inside all the chaos the film presents and I dug that a lot.

The films has good acting, interesting characters, and call me crazy but I couldn’t help but root for and like Sarah, even if she does appear to be a little batty. The film proceeds to unwrap in a very cool manner and then right when you think you have it all figured out we get a nice curveball at the end. This film is just a different kind of animal and I wish more indie films would take notes from this one. It’s a diverse cast with a creepy and cool story. If you can’t wait for an American release I’d say go right ahead and get the UK version. This is well worth watching.
