For the first time ever the famous horror story by Rudyard Kipling comes to the big screen. Starring Ellen Muth (Dead Like Me Showtime series) and New York Independent film legend Debbie Rochon, it is the tale of two heroes who lose their way fighting off a silver faceless leper in the woods. I think overall we end up with a mixed bag here, with some stuff working and some stuff not working out so much.

I’ve heard this movie get some praise for its monster creation and I guess that would be the one thing we should give credit to this film for. The “monster” or leper as its officially called does look pretty cool and it does lead to some interesting things. It is however the rest of the film where I feel we have a major lacking in the overall presentation. For starters the film seems to start off with a serious tone that develops into a comedic horror story about half way. Now I’m not sure how that happens unless they had a change of heart half way in or the start has comedy that just isn’t funny or noticeable.

The film isn’t very long so you’d think it wouldn’t have time wear out its welcome, but it seems to still manage that at a few points. The actors aren’t horrible, but we do end up with some awkward performances or at least some very strange deliveries at different times in different situations. I guess overall we get a cool looking leper, but when it comes to everything else it just doesn’t do anything at all for me and it might have a hard time finding others that it does do something for.
