Now as any longtime wrestling fan knows, a theme song can go a long way with getting a wrestler over with the crowd. So today we take a trip back in time to when the WWE was the WWF and when they had some of the most awesomely BAD wrestling themes that you just couldn’t get out of your head!!
10: Hillbilly Jim Theme – “Don’t Go Messing With a Country Boy”
Only in the grand rings of the WWF (now WWE) could a Hillbilly do battle right along side Clowns, Cops, and Goalies. But in the 80′s Hillbilly Jim came down off the mountains to fight the good fight along side Hulk Hogan against evil! I’m pretty sure this song now gets played at every country banquet in the south.
09: The Quebecers Theme – “Not The Mounties”
Jacques Rougeau had previously worked for the WWF both as a tag-team wrestler with his brother Raymond Rougeau as The Fabulous Rougeau Brothers and later on as a singles wrestler under the name The Mountie. When he was placed in a team with Pierre however they had the issue of the actual Mounties not wanting the gimmick used. So as a result, the duo recorded this song as their theme! I’m sure Those Moose riders loved this!
08: The Big Bossman Theme – “Hard Time”
When the EVIL former security guard from Cobb County Georgia decided to turn his nightstick against evil instead of good, he needed a new theme! Thus HARD TIME was born! If you ever take trip down to Cobb County Georgia, you better read the signs, RESPECT the law and order!
07: Demolition Theme – “Demolition”
When the classic 80′s style guitar riff hits the P.A. many of jobbers (people who always lose) knew that not only were they about to get an ass-kicking, but they were about to get it from a couple of guys dressed up on S & M gear! While originally made just to give Vince McMahon his own “Road Warriors”, Demolition actually weren’t half bad. Their theme song helped a whole lot too!
06: Fabulous Rougeau Brothers Theme – “All-American Boys”
Hey look! It’s Jacques Rougeau again and this time he’s with his brother Raymond! The Rougeau Brothers were originally good guys when they came into the WWF in 1987, but once they went heel (became bad guys), they sarcastically tried to claim to be all about anything American to spite them being French! They even went as far as to claim to now be from Memphis Tennessee!! And if you didn’t believe them, they had this song to prove it!
05: The Honky Tonk Man Theme – “Cool, Cocky, Bad”

Thanks to the Honky Tonk Man, we now know what it would have been like had Elvis ever been a wrestler. In another case were a person was supposed to be accepted by the crowd, but simply never was and was forced to change good/bad alliances, Honky would go on to become THE greatest Intercontinental champion of all time! And his theme wasn’t too bad either.
04: “The Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase Theme – “Money”
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=De3QK-LJpPo
After spending a good part of his WWF days without a theme, Ted turned his signature laugh into the intro of a now pretty classic song. If you didn’t get the point that The Million Dollar Man was making, his theme song sure went a long way to drive that point home. What was that point? That EVERYBODY has a price.
03: Shawn Michaels Theme – “Sexy Boy”
Originally sung by the late Sherri Martel, “Sexy Boy” would be re-recorded with Shawn himself singing it and is a theme that is even used today when Shawn pops up on WWE TV. While probably not the most heterosexual song to ever be made, one can’t help but dance around their rooms to this theme singing along with Shawn. Or is that just me??
02: Slick Theme – “Jive Soul Bro”
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tdNMj1fS2dw
Oh my, my, my! Now let’s be 100% honest here, Slick was probably one of the best managers in WWF history, but this was a bit racist. I mean have you seen the video? A black man eating away at chicken?? Well, WWE never was too P.C. (unless someone was running for office). None the less, it’s probably one of THE best songs ever produced by WWE and you just can’t help but jive to it!
01: Hulk Hogan Theme – “Real American”
Nothing says wrestling and America like Hulk Hogan! And since the Hulkster doesn’t lay down for anyone, BROTHER, he had to take the top spot on this list! Hulk was given a song that was originally used for a tag team of Barry Windham and Mike Rotundo (The U.S. Express) and turned it into the most ICONIC Wrestling theme EVER!! There’s really no reason for me to say anymore, I mean even President Obama used this song recently! That says a lot, BROTHER!
