If you’ve been following this column for a little bit now, you are probably aware that I just released a horror themed cookbook. If not, I’ll add you to the list of people I need to still sneak into their bedrooms, and whisper sweet subliminal messages into their ears as they sleep. That’s normal right?
Anyways, since I last posted about the book some stuff has happened that has made me walk around my apartment in a trance for weeks now just repeating, “that’s so fucking cool”, over and over again. A couple of weeks ago I was informed that the director of Re-Animator (Stuart Gordon) and Barbra (Judith O’Dea) of Night of the Living Dead both had not only purchased my cookbook, but were totally thrilled by it. If that’s not a horror fans wet dream then I don’t know what is.
So…as if it couldn’t get any better, I was just informed that the man of all men, Svengoolie, will be talking about my book on air with in the next couple of weeks. Now, what I need you all to do is run home and set your DVR’s, because I may die before then of a heart attack due to anticipation. My last dying wish is you all tune into this show. The air dates will be:
– This Saturday, April 21st at 10PM/9PM C during Dracula’s Daughter on ME-TV
– Re-airs on Saturday, April 28th at 11AM during Dracula’s Daughter on WCIU
Still haven’t gotten your hands on a copy of Cannibal Kitchen: A Horror Lover’s Cookbook? It is still available on Twin Star Media, and is now also available on Amazon; which includes an option to actually page through the book before you order. Last but not least, don’t want to order online and live in the Chicago area? I’m happy to say my cookbook is fully stocked and ready to fly off the shelf at Chicago Comics on Clark St. and Quimby’s on North Ave. It will also be available at Horrorbles in Berwyn shortly, and many conventions (some which I will be attending) throughout the year.
Spotted at C2E2 this past week
So if you haven’t figured it out yet, I’m on cloud 9. It’s been an amazing couple of months, and I’m sure it will continue to be a great year. I truly have you all as readers to thank, and in the spirit of things, I’d love to give away a signed copy of my cookbook to one amazing reader. This was my passion, and I worked hard to make it happen. Now let’s all work on bettering ourselves. To enter the give away, I’d love to hear what your 2012 goal is. I don’t care if it’s to go outside and feed a donkey, just either 1)leave a comment or 2) email me at CannibalKitchen213@gmail.com with said goal. You may enter as many times as you want, and you have until April 26th to enter. A winner will be picked at random shortly after.
Good luck everyone, and I leave you with some photos from my book release party done by the same photographer whom did the cover of my book, Joe Montalto of Doom & Gloom Photography.
