plot

A group of strangers is forced to take shelter in an outback roadhouse whilst a flood rages around them. But the danger lurking within is far greater than the threat from outside. As the water level rises, so does the tension, as the line between hunter and hunted begins to blur. Starring John Jarratt from Wolf Creek and Django Unchained.

howsthemovie

A film like this is a very odd film in some ways, not that it’s a bad thing in this case. The film seems to be more thriller than horror and thanks to a great performance from John Jarratt the movie even have some comedy elements that make what takes place seem all the more enjoyable. You never do really know where things are leading and what twists might take place as this movie moves along. That is what makes things so well received with this film. You stay glued to the TV until the end because you always feel like just anything could happen and that is a great thing. This isn’t a predictable movie and a lot of filmmakers could take note on that.

This is also a film that seems to capture a great atmosphere with the heavy rain and flooding environment. A mood and a feel can go a long way in a movie and this is certainly one that is greatly helped by that. Going by the cover and one of the stars of the film you get an idea that this movie is trying to play a little off Wolf Creek. This movie isn’t by any means Wolf Creek or close to it, but it does share a great actor and it is a very good and suspenseful film in its own right. Well worth checking out.
