Hack Job may be a film that is trying to be a little tongue in cheek with its title considering some of the contents of the film appear to be hacked together. Now I don’t mean that in a bad way. What I simple mean is the film is told in an anthology format which allows what appears to be different short films that James Balsamo has done over the years and connected together here in this format be able to come together in a less awkward fashion. Some of these shorts are better than others, but if there is one thing that does stand out and is good it would be the comedic aspect of the film as whole. I noticed that even if things get kind of bad on screen it can still make you laugh.
We do get some cameos from some rather well known people, some work very well and some are toss away cameos and others are more useful to the cause overall. Like I have already pointed out, some of what you get here is a bit on the hit or miss side of things. When it hits it works, but when it misses it does seem to be waaaay off the mark. But I do respect this type of film for what it is and did find a lot of it to be on the hilarious side of things for one reason or another.
