When three friends go hiking, jealousies, sexual tensions and strained relationships come to a head, turning what should have been a peaceful camping adventure into a terror trip. As collective paranoia reaches fever pitch it becomes clear that there is a much darker force at work in their ancient eerie surroundings. Who or what is after them? And can any one of them survive a night in the woods?
As tired of found footage as I currently am, I will admit that this wasn’t a bad film when you take everything into account. The story is simple. We have a couple head to the woods with the woman’s overly friendly friend and right there we have a love triangle that starts to get a bit rough for our characters before anything even starts to get spooky in the woods. That element alone keeps you interested enough as the details unfold and things start to really get going. That then takes us into our third act.
When we reach that part of the film things get to a certain point and give your take a few tense moments they more or less stay the same. Something is there, is it someone there or something else is what we have to wait and see. Regardess, it makes for a nice little film that might get called boring by some due to the pacing of the last act, but I found it more creepy than dull myself. We also have a film that uses many different camera for the found footage and it all works out very well and looks great.
