ATM (2012) (Movie Review)
Director:  David Brooks

On a late night visit to an ATM, three co-workers end up in a desperate fight for their lives when they become trapped by an unknown man. What comes next will have you banging your head against walls and shaking your head all together. I do think we have a good choice for any “worst of” list for the year 2012.But on the flip-side of things, we do have the kid that use to be fat from Drake and Josh playing a very annoying character.

When you love horror films you are trained to dispend belief on a number of issues. We train ourselves that the dead can rise, monsters can be everywhere, and a number of other crazy issues and situations. However common sense is something that we can’t look over, especially when the film packs no ghouls and ghost but instead a mysterious man in a big winter coat. When you break things down in ATM we have three grown adults with a big glass bottle in hand that are scared into cowering inside an ATM for hours do to what looks like an eskimo outside the ATM. Does this person with a stylish coat have a weapon? It looks like nothing more outside of a tire iron at first. So what in the world keeps these three there? It appears to be the simple fact that they are cowards.

And the fun doesn’t stop there, no not at all. The logic goes out the window time and time again as these people pass up chance after chance to make a run for it, even when they are outside and seemingly in the clear. They also seem to be too busy fighting with one another to notice this mysterious person setting up traps outside the ATM that seem like they would take a lot more time than they do in the movie. We also get totally ape with the film’s ending after countless highly unlikely situations and illogical moment take place. I won’t spoil the ending but I just can’t see it. This movie does stuff so wrong that when bad things happen to people you just have to smile due to the totally random and dumb fashion to which they happen. Do yourself a favor, folks, save yourselves and skip this one.
