A series of brutal murders puts the lives of three men on a collision course: the father of the latest victim now out for revenge, a vigilante police detective operating outside the boundaries of law, and the main suspect in the killings – a religious studies teacher arrested and released due to a police blunder.
Every once and a while a movie comes along that just seems different and cool in nature. This would be that film. We have a plot of kids being kidnapped and killed, which turns to a cat and mouse game when one cop doesn’t want to let things go when he is sure he has the killer in sight. Adding to all that we have the father of one of the girls that was killed on the trail of the same man. Of course we then have to ponder if the man is even guilty or if it all one big mistake. It goes down in a very cool and well-shot fashion with just as much to laugh and chuckle at as their is to tense up about. It all goes down in spectacular fashion.
This is also a film of very interesting characters. They are acted out very well on screen and I can see why Quentin Tarantino loves this film soo much because it really does remind you of one of his films in a lot of ways. It is also a movie that makes you think a lot. You change your mind about things during this film. A film that keeps you guessing is a lost art these days and I for one welcome more films like this because we really need them. As far as the transfer goes, it isn’t perfect, but it looks VERY good for the most part. Great colors and great details for very good film.
