In a town overrun with zombies, vampires, and a melting mad scientist with plans for an impending alien invasion, it’s up to a select few to try and keep order.
Here we got a film that is done in the tradition of an anthology with a different director handling a different segment. Only in this case things follow along a much more smooth transition format as each segment just builds on the last to make one bigger story. And here on the Troma brand I find that it is a film that should give fans of the brand what they’d expect with gore, humor, and nudity. It might not be Gone with the Wind in quality, but for all the short comings it has it still remains fun. And for this movie reviewer fun can go a long way.
So by the time this story wraps we get zombies, vampires, aliens, and more. I do believe the vampire intro was a bit of a throw away, but it worked to just introduce the film. And of course everything comes across in an extremely cheesy fashion, but I think we all know that is the point of this one. So while I can’t give this movie a perfect score or even close to it, I am happy to say that I “get it” and I appreciate it. I also think they did a great job with what they had to work with. If you love some wild and crazy mixed with gore action, you should have a good time with Doomsday County.
