While most Sony Godzilla releases have at least two movies on them, this one packs both the American and Japanese version of this one on it. After America dropped the ball with Godzilla, Japan decided to reboot the series here and as a result Godzilla is back to being a bad guy, which is probably how it should be. The one thing I also dig about this Godzilla film is they don’t seem to waste much time like they have in other older Godzilla films. There is the right amount of Godzilla here as well as the right amount of action to keep you happy regardless of which version to decide to watch. We have pretty much what you’d want out of a Godzilla film here with him wrecking stuff and battling other monsters. It’s cheesy, but it is supposed to be.

If there is one down side to this Godzilla flick it might just be the use of CGI. You guys are well aware I’m sure how bad some late 90s CGI could be and it shows that here in its use for Godzilla. That is really one of the few things I’d say are bad about the film. I don’t think you’ll get much more complaints from big time Godzilla fans other than that. We even have some human characters that aren’t so bad on screen here to go along with the big guy! As for how the film looks, I think there’s good and bad. Some scenes show great details and others seem a bit soft. I think this has been the case with most these Sony Godzilla releases, but I still don’t think you will find it looking any better.
