I’ve been a little tough on Adam Green over the years, but I still will admit that I enjoyed season one of Holliston overall. Was it a little self-serving? Of course it was and so is season two. It is also funny and entertaining for the most part with cool co-stars and cameos. Also in the wake of the death of Oderus Urungus, it was a little bitter sweet getting this release. I’m ashamed to say I knew of him more for Holliston than for the music, but he is and was very funny and cool in the role of Adam’s imaginary friend. Of course there will always be episodes better than the other, still the series as a whole remains fun with no real stinker in the entire season. That is something hard for any series to do.
The show is also uncut here and you just never do know who might pop up in an episode. You got pretty much the entire all-star line up of your local horror convention, but these guys have earned their spot so why not take in the reward? Plus, it is always nice to see Danielle Harris. Some of these people give the best performance we’ve seen from them in years in these shows, which says a lot. As for the transfer, the shows look great and probably near perfect if you break it down. Right on par or better than most TV shows you watch on network TV. If you liked Holliston before you should love it by the end of this disc.
