When Teresa and the girls leave their N.J. salon for a weekend of sun and sin down the shore, they’re blindsided by bizarre events that send them from the sands of Seaside Heights to a secluded house deep in the N.J Pine Barrens. Frightened by stories of the legendary Jersey Devil, the local Piney’s and a giant dim-witted neighbor, the girls return to Seaside and hook-up with five fist-pumpers. Later they converge at a Seaside bar where they re quickly ejected for a dance-floor brawl. With nowhere to go, the group retreats to the Pine Barrens for the night. Blinded by lust, they remain unaware that their long-standing debt to humanity is about to be settled – with their lives. One by one, the body count soars as retribution is exacted at the hands of a mentally-deranged killer with much more than just an axe to grind.
We are going to the shore! And, you pretty much get your typical stereotypes here, but you probably won’t care because there are also hot women. Regardless if you love the characters or you hate them, there is a pretty OKAY storyline here to work with and I think when take into account what you really dig about slashers, this one gives you pretty much what you’d want regardless. So, what might annoy you from a character point of view is fine since you will end up seeing them probably killed in a cool way regardless. And, we have nudity. We can never ever say a bad word about that when it comes to a horror film.
And, if we are going to touch on kills we have to talk about the fact we get some nice gore here. I think when you add that up with the rest of the typical slasher stuff you should enjoy you end up with a fun movie that isn’t great by any means, but it at least isn’t bad or boring. I think most people who see this will have a good time with this one, I know I did. The film being a new film means our HD transfer looks pretty good as well. When you combine everything and don’t forget about some of fun casting choices like Ron Jeremy, you have a fun release that I think is worth a watch.
