After her boyfriend is brutally murdered in a sting operation, special agent Gillian Kaites is implicated in the slaying and is sentenced to prison. While behind bars, she discovers a shocking web of corruption and begins to plot a bloody revenge in this action and T & A filled Troma classic from director by Eric Louzil (CLASS OF NUKE ‘EM HIGH Pts. 2 & 3) and producer by Lloyd Kaufman (THE TOXIC AVENGER)! Vinegar Syndrome is pleased to bring this 80s cult hit to DVD newly restored from the original negative.
Here we have a Troma film getting the remastered treatment from Vinegar Syndrome. And what you get is very Troma-ish as it should be. It’s a police woman film that turns into a woman in prison film that still manages to find time to become a revenge flick somewhere in between. The characters are somewhat gimmicky to our hateful woman warden to our hunters that round up the women for the place. One of them look like Danny Trejo in some odd weird way. There is a lot about this film that is both odd and weird, that is probably the charm of it. If there is any charm to it, that would be what I’d assume you’d enjoy.
The lead is a fine lady and she does a fine job to her credit. There is, however, a lacking feeling that seems to come over the movie about half way through. You get the feeling something is just off or missing. Maybe we need more of a plot dealing with the woman escaping as we seem to deal with a lot before we truly get to that point. There is some gun play early and late in the movie, both times that happen are really fun. There is just some points that aren’t as fun and it holds the thing down a bit.
