MONDO MAGIC – more daring than MONDO CANE, more shocking than AFRICA BLOOD AND GUTS. Journey into a world of primitive African tribes, Indian faith healers, and Amazonian hunters. Witness their barbaric rituals and brutal sexual rites. Enter civilizations where gruesome acts of magic are the cornerstones of their cultures. MONDO MAGIC is a horrifying testimonial to the brutality of man, black and white. Not even your bloodiest nightmares can prepare you for MONDO MAGIC, because MONDO MAGIC is real!

This is a very strange, odd, weird, and at times totally gross look at some primitive people. The film focuses on tribes who use “magic”. This leads to some rather alarming things on screen and I’d say it wasn’t for everyone, but that would be the understatement of the year. It isn’t a film I’d recommend eating while watching as we see people use their mouths to help animals use the bathroom, stick their heads into a cow’s vagina to restore fertility and other nasty things that test just how much you can stomach during the running time of this outrageous film. Think Faces of Death, only real and with lots more scenes that could make you throw up while watching. It might be a good test for you to see if you can make it to the end. Not because it is an awful film, but because it is a hard to watch film for obvious reasons.

So, if you want a test of your might in a visual form, Mondo Magic is the film for you. Coming from Massacre Video, who used the 100 minute uncut print, the first 1000 sold even comes with a poster. While I can’t say that it is a movie I’ll ever watch again, I can still place this movie on display as a badge of honor that I was able to make it all the way through such a film! A film that is hard to watch for us, but just another day in the jungle for the tribes featured. I’m not sure about any “magic” in the film, bust wait until you see the all the stuff involving hooks and walking on thorns. Watch at your own risk with this one, folks! Be sure you know what you are watching before you jump into it and lose your lunch.
