MST’ies and bowlers share an enduring love of turkeys. This latest collection of episodes from the cult comedy series Mystery Science Theater 3000 bowls a perfect game(four turkeys) as comic kingpins Joel, Mike and their robot teammates Tom Servo and Crow riff strike after strike. Not a single instance of bad acting, bad writing or bad filmmaking is spared. This promises to be a Thanksgiving match for the ages and, needless to say, you will have a ball. Whether it’s ten frames or 24 per second, the snarky anarchy of MST3K will be right up your alley. Oh and as an added bonus this set contains new and exclusive Turkey Day intros by Joel Hodgson. Fans of this series have been licking their lips waiting for this release like they do that big ol’ juicy turnkey! Thankfully Shout Factory has made it to where you can enjoy both things on Thanksgiving with this set featuring four films that you can enjoy on your Thanksgiving day or night, if you choose to do so and skip out on getting trampled at a Black Friday sale. So instead of being flattened by a mob of people after that cheap TV, just sit on back with a hog leg and enjoy getting trampled by laughs from this show that makes watching bad movies fun! In the case of this release it makes good movies even more fun as well with the inclusion of Squirm. That is a movie I happen to like a whole lot anyway and I was extremely happy to see it turn up in the Scream Factory line. It is a hoot having it here in this form as well. This has always been a show that seems to make bad movies good and good films even better. I just wish more discs had the option to watch with the roast off. That would be a nice bonus, but not a must or anything.
Still, if you decide the best way to get turnt up on the holidays is by watching cheesy flicks being poked fun at, you can’t go wrong with such titles as Jungle Goddess, The Painted Hills, and The Screaming Skull as well. And for all you collectors out there this release comes in one of the coolest and best looking tin cases I have ever seen. It even tops old tins releases by Shout Factory. I hope more tins come along the way. Some of these episodes you get are what helped define a show like this and what better way to full get the effect of the show than to watch it all in a marathon! It is another awesome release from Shout and if you love this show you will certainly want this release.
