It’s Halloween night and Angela is throwing a party…but this is no ordinary Halloween party. Everybody’s headed to Hull House, a deserted funeral home, formerly the home of a mass murderer. But when the partygoers decide to have a séance, they awaken something evil…and these party crashers have a thirst for blood. Now it’s a battle for who can survive the night in Hull House.

So this movie gives us Amelia Kinkade in the role she’d make famous (or the role that made her famous?), Angela. We got scream queen legend, Linnea Quigley, once again getting naked and giving us one of the more iconic and disturbing scenes you’ll ever see. And last we have Cathy Podewell of Dallas fame in the role of Judy, a ditsy, almost child-like at times, yet, very hot girl that is sporting an Alice from Alice in Wonderland costume, and for some odd reason seems to just walk her way out of danger a few times when you’d almost expect her by the way she acts to go at any minute. Still, even if she is a bit boring at times, she’s cute enough to get most the male watching crowd behind her and that’s probably what they were going for. As a matter of fact, when it comes to characters, this movie blurs the lines so well you never really know who will survive and who won’t. At the start you may have your picks for who will be left when it get close to the end, but odds are you’ll probably have one of those picks wrong.

The film shows it’s 1988 roots well, but unlike many horror films from that time period it doesn’t really drag, it builds up a creepy atmosphere, and as odd as they are, the characters seems even more real than most movie characters, leaving it harder to pin point who will make it and who won’t. Like I’ve said, I won’t spoil it. But I was pretty shocked by one of the characters that is left at the end, I’d have picked that person for sure to be one of the first to go as the movie was starting. Night of the Demons is a very 80′s movie. From the music, to the look, to the feel. We get boobs, blood, and some odd black humor tossed all together makes a movie I’d suggest you watch. But I’d suggest you watch it with a group of friends to get the fill benefits of it. The transfer is another great effort from Scream Factory. Much of the film is dark, so it helps that the blacks look good. The film shows it’s age here and there, but ultimately the transfer is proven to be a winner with the look and details.
