When a radioactive spill causes mass contamination, thousands of infected citizens are transformed into bloodthirsty undead fiends. I can really enjoy a movie like Nightmare City. While it isn’t really a zombie movie (more like infected), it does bring a lot of fun in the form of deformed people running around going crazy. It seems like the action rolls along just fine and some stuff that happens might make you laugh out loud even when you weren’t meant to be giving it that reaction. That is what I call fun personally and I am sure fans of old school horror films with lots of gore will find it just as fun and entertaining.
While one could make a case that the movie does slack off ever so slightly in the middle, I don’t think many people will all out dislike the film. The characters might not be the strongest you will see and the ending is a bit on the wrong side of corny, but the movie is still very effective. If you like fun splatter films from back in the day topped off with some hot women and nudity tossed in, then you will find this one to be right down you alley.
