A peaceful California town is shaken after the brutal murder of diner owner by a gang of vicious punks. When the daughter of the slain man attempts to avenge her father’s death, she’s held hostage by the gang resulting in an epic battle between punks and rednecks.

I don’t know how I missed this one over the years, but I am very happy this was put out recently. We have a slice of the 80s in a 90s movie and while it doesn’t always make sense or have logic behind it, it still is fun. The battle between punks and rednecks is caused when one of the punks off an old man and send his daughter to the hospital in a catatonic state. His other daughter goes in for the kill, but things get twisted and next thing you know we have the police getting trigger happy locals to help them out. It is all whole lot of fun and there is some tension as well. It really comes across as a hybrid, because at times the movie even feels like something from the 70s.

While I don’t think any actor here will be winning any rewards, they do make for some memorable characters. We have more than a few characters that really stand out and that is never a bad thing. There are even a few comedic moments that can draw a chuckle out of you and you won’t be bored at all… for better or for worse. The transfer has a few bad patches of film here and there, but then it can unleash a really nice popping scenes. I think the good is far more than the bad and when it is good it is really good.
