Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, Princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.

You kind of get the idea that DC’s Cinematic Universe was a bit surprised by the popularity of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. Arguably she was the best thing to come from Batman vs Superman, so I was more than excited to dive into the 4K release of Wonder Woman from Warner Brothers. You might have heard a lot of praise for Wonder Woman and if you did you can believe the hype. Gal Gadot more than shines in her character’s origin story and we have a DC comic book movie that is finally done right. One reason I feel the movie works so well is that it doesn’t try to cram too much in. I mean, yeah, the story of Amazon women who come from the God can be a bit of a hard cookie to crack for some who might not be all about the Wonder Woman lore, but everything here clicks and flows very well. This is a movie that packs a big punch and is just all around a very fun watch from top to bottom. This is easily the best DC Universe movie we’ve seen to date.

Really the only thing about the movie I wasn’t too crazy about was Chris Pine. He plays a pilot that just so happens to crash down in the secret location of Woman Woman and her people. I’m not saying he does a poor job acting per say, but I’m just not a fan of the character. That is really the only thing holding me from giving Wonder Woman a perfect score. While I’ll admit to being more of a Marvel fan than DC and more of a fan of the Marvel films, I would easily place this one alongside even the best comic book films we’ve seen from anyone in the game. It should also be needless to say that the 4K look of the film is very easy on the eyes and is the prime example of eye-candy. Wonder Woman is a great movie and I hope the fun and the roll it puts the DC Cinematic Universe on keeps rolling along as we head towards Justice Leauge.
