When a horrific accident forces a deeply dysfunctional couple to check into a decrepit motel, a lecherous and deranged desk clerk arranges for them to witness three unholy visions of the macabre. But when cautionary tales of bloodlust, deadly creatures and a world filled with the undead don’t faze these two narcissists, stronger measures are right at hand…for the road to hell is paved with blood.
If you take a movie with a lot of gore, nudity, and comedic value you’d think I’d find it hard to say anything bad about it, but sadly that isn’t the case with Road Hell. This is a movie that was aiming for something, but it just didn’t hit the mark at all in my humble opinion. The characters should be memorable and the quotes should be quotable, yet I just didn’t seem to like either the characters or the dialogue. When you get a movie just seems to be running on a flat out the gate the film is going to crash and I think this film crashes and goes down in a blaze that isn’t of glory.
I like anthology films, but I don’t think a single story in this one will stand out to you or make you want to re-watch them. While I will admit the concept was at least clever, there just wasn’t anything to really make the rest of it catch up with the idea. So in the end we end up with an interesting idea that didn’t have the right follow through, characters, or anything else. This movie may be hard for some to finish. Then again, being this bad could be the best thing that could happen to it.
