Broadway World reports that Warner Bros. Home Entertainment will release all twelve Friday the 13th movies on Blu-ray in one complete set on Friday, September 13. Pre-orders begin on August 9. For the first time, all of the films will be packaged together, with seven making Blu-ray debuts. This is the result of an alliance with Paramount and Warner Bros, in which WB was given exclusive distribution rights for over 600 Paramount titles. The set will also feature a “Killer Extras” bonus DVD.
Friday the 13th is one of the longest-running and most successful horror franchises in history, with more entries than Halloween, A Nightmare on Elm Street and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The films have earned $119.7 million in home entertainment sales.
The ten-disc set will be sold for $129.95 and will include the twelve movies on nine BD discs, along with the tenth bonus disc. It will be available in a collectible tin case with eleven hours of previously released features as well as a 40-page soft cover book. The book is an excerpt from Crystal Lake Memories: The Complete History of Friday the 13th, an expansive tome that is looked at as the ultimate memoir of the series. It has highlights of the 200 interviews, 600 photos, storyboards, concept art and more. There will also be a new official Camp Crystal Lake embroidered Counselor Patch.
The set also includes digital version of all 12 movies with UltraViolet.
