That contest, which was always typed as “contest” was never meant to be taken seriously, and it was a joke. You may recall how some called the Ms.Horror Blogosphere contest sexist when it wasn’t? Well that was meant as a parody of that, and the point was it was everything the other contest wasn’t. But it was meant that way as a joke only. I linked to the sites, I never posted one picture of the ladies besides the one pic and I had told all three ladies before hand about it. I had tried to tell them what I was going to do and if it wasn’t made clear I am sorry, but if at any time any of those three ladies had simply said, “Chuck, don’t put that on your blog” I wouldn’t have done it. This was all a joke people. Was it a good joke? Afraid not apparently.
My biggest mistake here, besides posting it of course, was not informing everyone of it before hand. Perhaps, had I done so it wouldn’t have turned into the mess it had. Maybe after the women who wanted nothing to do with it had spoke out to me then it would have never seen the light of day, but what’s done is done and now all I can do is remove it from the site.
You can look at stuff I’ve said before, and while I may play up the whole “woman hater” card from time to time jokingly (Which some never seem to get either) I’ve always went out of my way time and time again to give credit to the women who do this and I’ll give them credit now. I never said they weren’t talented. They are. Some do it for fun, some do it for a living, and I should have asked your permission and I didn’t. That was wrong and for that to you, the women listed and the women in this genre in general, I am sorry. If you were hurt by this in any way I’m sorry. And if it somehow hurt you in your line of work or hurt you in the “real” world, I am sorry double. People that know me know I’m not just some womanizing asshole..As shocking as that seems to sound to some of you know that know me from that last post only.
Now if any of you don’t wish to come here anymore, fine don’t come here. Don’t read another post I ever post, and don’t link to another thing I ever write if that makes you feel better. I never was in this for hits, trust me my hits were fine to start with. You can believe me on it or you can choose not to and keep playing the “it was for attention” card if you wish, but that was NEVER what this was about to me. I did this because I thought people could “get it” and have fun with it, even with it being in questionable taste and they didn’t and this went really wrong. It was sarcastic, it was a joke, an exaggeration and it didn’t just bomb, it blew the hell up. You can blame me for not being more clear, you can blame me for even doing it if you want to, that’s fine to. If you don’t want to have me on any of your social networks then remove me and unfollow and unlike this blog if you feel that makes it better for you. I don’t care if you don’t come back, I just want the people that I really hurt with this to know, it wasn’t intentional and I am sorry for the inconvenience.
