Face Off Vol.3: The Mike vs. Sarah James

Ding! Ding! It’s time for the 3rd venture out in the world known as Face Off! And who’s strapping on the gloves this time??

The Mike – If the online Horror world had a Superhero he’d be called The Mike! You can watch as Mike saves the horror online community from boredom over at From Midnight With Love!

Sarah James – There’s more to Sarah than fish and chips! She’s one of my personal favorite bloggers and if she isn’t yours already she will be if you check her out over at Scare Sarah.

SAW 3-D WILL be the final SAW movie.

The Mike – FALSE: I think the series will take a break…unless the money’s bigger than the last three…but to say it’ll be the last in a series that’s produced 7 flicks in 7 years is silly to me.  No once profitable idea really ever ends.

Sarah James – TRUE: Right now there’s nowhere to go from a 3D film.  Unless they do a musical.  SAW The Musical I would see.

I believe that 3-D is a passing fad that will run it’s course soon.

The Mike – TRUE & FALSE: True because the current fad will pass…sooner than later, I think.  Audiences are already growing tired of the higher prices and, considering the target audience for most recent 3-D movies is families, it’s going to wear them down.  Add in the fact that most of the movie geeks speak out against the technology, and it won’t be long before we see it fade away.  However, I add the False because it will most likely be back.  This is its third go round, it’ll make another loop and be back “bigger and better” in the future.

Sarah James – FALSE: It’s not exactly a new thing.  I had 3D glasses when I was 10.  Now we have the technology!  As long as it’s reserved for a particular type of film it will always be a winner.  But then I did buy a personal mini-disc recorder, so…

Wes Craven is overrated.

The Mike – TRUE: Gonna go controversial here and say True. I’ve always respected his work (with ANOES and Scream, particularly) but I’ve never found him that interesting.  Nor have I found either of these original films to be quite worth their reputation.  When I consider that my favorite films of his are probably The People Under the Stairs and Red Eye, I have to wonder what anyone who might mention him alongside the likes of John Carpenter is smoking. (Oh, and I don’t care what the excuses are…Cursed is one of the very worst horror movies of the last decade.  That’s saying something.)

Sarah James – FALSE: Whaaaat?!  He knows what The Kids want and even though I am 30, I still consider myself one.  And just look at his hair!  Beautiful.

Piranha 3-D will be awesomely bad.

The Mike – FALSE: Just awesome, baby.  Just awesome.

Sarah James
– TRUE: So bad it’s good.  Goodbad.  G’b’d.

There needs to be another Friday the 13th film made.

The Mike – FALSE: On semantics, I’ll say False.  We don’t really NEED another film in a series that’s featured 11 movies doing the same thing.  Do I want to see one?  Actually, yeah.  I had fun with the stupid remake, the same way I’ve had fun with most of the stupid movies in the series, so I might as well turn my brain off for one more.

Sarah James – TRUE: Hell, why not!  And I do love it when people get all antsy about remakes.  I might even make it myself!
