Don’t cross a woman, or “marry” her in a prison rape fashion..

The Prologue
Today we got Erotic Escape, coming to us from 1985 and Italy! You know what that means right? It means we got a lot of violence and a lot of nudity. A pretty good combination if I do say so myself. Not to mention we have a rather attractive lady running around naked in the film, that’s always a plus as well right? I know you usually can’t base the quality of a film on the looks of the women in the film, but oddly enough that’s an acceptable thing to do when dealing with a film of this nature.
The Movie
Italian, Subtitled in English. A political prisoner escapes from a high security penitentiary. In order to make sure that the cops won’t trail him, he takes as a hostage the gorgeous daughter of a wealthy businessman. After many brutal humiliations and severe beatings, the very odd couple begins to find a common ground, but the truce is a very brief one. Eleonora Vallone, daughter of star actor Raf, stars in this steamy women on the run classic.
Well the film looks it’s age, but the cover should show you right up front what this film is using to garner your attention. And in it’s defense, for the year 1985, Eleonora Vallone is a pretty good choice for Italian eye candy. As a matter of fact, seeing her in the nude and watching all of that erotic and sexual stuff (not saying any rape which takes place is a good thing), is probably the best thing this film has going for it. And it’s certainly not a type of film you’d see made these days, which may or may not be a good thing. I’ll leave that up to you to decide.
Now the rest of the stuff is pure grindhouse style by the book chase movie stuff. The prisoner takes this woman on his escape. He then proceeds to rough her up a bit and rape her (to put it blunt). He then starts to have feeling for her as they go along and it would appear that this girl gets stuck with some form of Stockholm syndrome, as those feelings look to be returned near the later part of the film. BUT, is that really the case or is she just using what she has to better herself? That aspect of the film is very interesting even if at times other things don’t appear to be as interesting.
The ending might just be a bit of a shock once you reach it, but I suspected it and was just looking for it to happen. For those of you who don’t see that coming you might get more of a joy from it once it goes down. There’s some blood, there’s some sex, and we get a pretty cool little chase going on as everyone is on the run throughout the film. If you dig older stuff from Italy and the 80′s I’m sure you’ll enjoy this one. I think the dirty look and at times sexually graphic nature at least helps the overall vibe of the film.
The Conclusion
I think I might have personally expected just a bit more out of this than what I got, but seeing Eleonora Vallone in her birthday suit doesn’t hurt anything. If you’d like to check this Italian film out, it can be gotten at CAV by way of One 7 Films. If nothing else, it’ll raise the question of, is it still rape if she’s appearing to be at least half way willing??..I’m just kidding, please don’t fill my inbox with complaints again. Phone numbers and nude photos yes (if you’re a woman), but complaints, no.
