As you guys are well aware, I don’t read a lot of books. But the recent horror anthology from Kevin Strange, D.F. Nobel, and friends titled Strange Sex intrigued me.
Strange Sex is 13 stories, sexually charged and weird stories, that will make your chest hair curl all the while keeping you very interested in where each story is going. As the stories went from a tale of a man who’s wife was in an affair with God, to a man using bed bugs for sexual pleasure, to a tale of cannibal teddy bears, a story by Strange himself, I noticed I had trouble putting the book away. And I don’t usually like to even read.
Let’s put it this way, as much as I love zombies, it took me a year to read The Zombie Survival Guide and World War Z. I finished this crazy stuff in two days. And dare I say, this has major re-read value. And I’ve never read a book more than once. Maybe it’s just because of the insane nature of what is in this book. It obviously sexual, it’s kinda sick, and it is also oddly funny. A combo of these three things is enough to keep you locked in and it makes the whole experience a lot of fun.
I’ve seen all of the movies by Kevin Strange, who was in the independent movie game before jumping into the writer world. He was a good film maker but his grand visions seemed to be cut off at the legs due to a budget at times. Here in the fiction writing genre, the only limits to his writing (or anyone’s writing) is the imagination. If you love the weirder side of books, this will for sure be your book of choice.
