The cult classic TRUTH OR DARE? series moves forward again in SCREAMING FOR SANITY: TRUTH OR DARE 3, a demented story of double crosses, guilt, sin and bloody retaliation. A Coppermasked Madman wreaks vengeance again in Sunnyville, Florida, brutally butchering individuals he believes are profiting off of serial killer Mike Strauber’s fame. Amidst the carnage and gore, tormented Dan Hess (Joel D. Wynkoop) is close to unmasking the madman … and the blood splattered conclusion with send you SCREAMING FOR SANITY!
The Truth or Dare series might not have much in the way of budget, but they do hold the crown of perhaps being the best shot on video franchise you can find. They also pack stories that are interesting and usually have a nice twist at the end (not counting part 2). That continues here in “Screaming for Sanity” the third film in the series. And, right away we are treated to a plot that uses a memorable scenes from the original and turns it into a very clever plot here. Like I said, it might not look pretty, but the overall effects and the effort do come through.
The movie packs a good pace and outside the normal restrictions that handcuff you when you deal with lower funded shot on video movies it manages to make shine in the other areas. Tim Ritter is a wizard at making something out of pretty much nothing and while you might not end up blown away with what you get, I do think you will have your attention held and enjoy what you see overall for one reason or another.
