Carlos Tobalina was one of the most prolific filmmakers of the 1970′s and 80′s directing upwards of 50 feature films, and MARILYN ranks as one of his most outrageous endeavors. William Margold stars as ‘The Senator,’ who, despite being married, agrees to impregnate a beautiful CIA agent. As complications ensue with the senator’s ability to perform , his wife and associates become increasingly suspicious of his affairs, resulting in a myriad of bizarre plot twists and revelations. Co-starring Serena, Sharon Thorpe, Dominique St Clair, as well as a cameo from John Waters star Liz Renay, MARILYN AND THE SENATOR is coming to home video for the first time in its full length director’s cut, scanned from the 35mm camera negatives.
when is the last time you saw something this sleazy kick off with quotes from John F. Kennedy, The Pope, and congress? I don’t really know what to make of something like this as we have two hours of sexual tension and sex, mixed up with an actual plot about a girl named Marilyn and a senator! I mean come on now, we got a senator agreeing to knock up a CIA Agent, what more did we expect from something like this? Regardless of how off the wall inane the plot is and how the film runs extremely too long, we do have hot women. So we have something to see here anyway.
For what it is worth, the film does look really nice having been remastered. The film looks great and has hot women, I just didn’t care much for the plot as it is a bit too sleazy and out there for my personal taste in films. If you like this sort of thing this is by far the version of this film you’d want to snatch up. If you don’t like erotic films this one will be one you’d want to avoid. If you’ve seen the old X rated stuff Vinegar Syndrome has released, then you know what to expect with this.
