88 Films to Celebrate Halloween at the Manchester Festival of Fantastic Films – This Weekend!

CELEBRATE HALLOWEEN IN MANCHESTER WITH 88 FILMS!

MANCHESTER FESTIVAL OF FANTASTIC FILMS CELEBRATES ITS 25th YEAR!

SPECIAL GUESTS, SCREENINGS AND 88 FILMS IN ATTENDANCE!

For 25 years the annual Manchester Festival of Fantastic Films has been one of Britain’s friendliest genre gatherings and excelled at bringing big name guests to one of England’s most vibrant metropolises. Last year the convention offered fans the first, and to date only, chance to meet Umberto Lenzi on UK soil – and previous galas have included visits from such legends as Lamberto Bava, Roger Corman, Warwick Davis, Crispin Glover, John Landis and the late, great Antonio Margheriti.

Running from Friday 31st October until Sunday November 2nd, at the Manchester Conference Centre, this year’s bash will continue an exceptional legacy – and 88 Films are proud to confirm their attendance. Beginning on Friday evening, 88 Films will present a stall in which our wares will be easily available – and at great prices. Moreover, on Friday evening a very special screening of our new documentary SCREAM QUEENS: HORROR HEROINES EXPOSED will be shown, following a Q and A with HOSTEL star, and interviewee, Jennifer Lim. Also present at the festival will be ex-Bond babe Caroline Munro, the leading lady of 88 Films’ THE LAST HORROR FILM, which will be available to purchase on BluRay. Additional guests include HOUSE ON THE EDGE OF THE PARK director Ruggero Deodato, CITY OF THE LIVING DEAD actor Giovanni Lombardo Radice, MAN FROM DEEP RIVER actress Me Me Lai, HUMAN CENTIPEDE II thespian Lauren Harvey, Hammer glamour girl Yvonne Monlaur and many more. Journalists and writers slated to make an appearance include TEENAGE WASTELAND scribe Justin Kerswell and John Martin, the man behind the celebrated video nasty tome SEDUCTION OF THE GULLIBLE. Also making a bow will be our friends at Shameless Entertainment, the label behind the British BluRay debut of Deodato’s infamous CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST.

The annual Manchester Festival of Fantastic Films has always been a laid back and likeable celebration of cinematic escapism – and attendees can usually be found relaxing in the Manchester Conference Centre bar. This year looks set to be the best one yet – and tickets, which are just £25 for the three days, can be obtained on the door as well as online via the instructions given on the company’s web site: http://fantastic-films.com/festival/ (please note that, due to personal commitments elsewhere, Luigi Cozzi and Francesca Ciardi – both listed online at the given link – have had to cancel). We hope very much to see you there – and to have you join us in celebrating Halloween in the company of some scream queen sirens and idols of esoteric excess!
