Ordered to a delinquent camp by their exasperated parents, a group of wayward teens fall foul of a deadly virus that infects the guards and turns them into flesh-eating monsters! Gristle and gore are on the menu-as are the kids in this Brat Camp slaughterhouse massacre.
Bad Meat is one of those indie films that just so happen to luck up and have just about everything you can think of come together and work for it. The film is a dark comedy that packs some of the nastiest and most disgusting things you can think of taking place on the screen. And while you may feel a little sick from seeing it, you won’t turn away because what is happening is that much fun and interesting. The characters are all well done, the bad guys are hated, and when the stuff hits the fan in this one it never lets up and the end results is a surprise hit in my opinion. This film leaves its mark and I’m sure we will be hearing about it for the years to come.
The movie doesn’t just toss vomit and blood at you; it also is done in a way that builds some mystery to things. My one and only complaint about this film is I think the ending seemed a little too rushed for whatever reason. The movie seems like it flies by and when you are in the heat of things, things then quickly fickle out without some closure. Not counting that abrupt ending, the rest we have here is pure gold in my opinion. Bad Meat is one of my favorite films I have seen so far in 2013. I think you like a gore filled film that doesn’t mind getting down and dirty you’ll enjoy it as well. Oh, and check this out, the actor Tahj Mowry is the kid from Smart Guy! What an odd world.
