Joey Jeremiah’s friends have gathered near Blood Stool Creek for a party weekend to throw their ambitious friend a “get laid” party. Teens… woods… beer… sex… what could possibly go wrong? Well the wooded area that plays host to their good times houses a sinister beast. He’s bloodthirsty, intelligent, eloquent, covered in hair, and HORNY as hell… it’s SEXSQUATCH!
We have another DIY project from the Warlock guys here and the end results are a film that at least looks a lot better than the previous films I’ve seen by these guys. And while I wouldn’t say I loved the movie by any means, I did find it a lot funnier and more tolerable than such gems as I Spit Chew on Your Grave (from the same director). The plot is ridiculous, as anything named Sexsquatch should be. We have a lot of female breast jiggling in front of us, and I dare say we have a few brief moments of what appears to be pure genius on the screen. The keyword there is brief, but the movie has more positives than negatives.
I’m always torn on the running time of these movies. This one here runs just under an hour and that is borderline short film territory. But on the positive side of that, it means the movie doesn’t hang around long enough to get dull or boring and at least packs a very nice pace. I guess one could say Sexsquatch is a low budget mixed bag, very low budget and very mixed. Some will hate it, others will praise it, but I am somewhat in the middle leaning more towards the positive side this time around for Chris Seaver’s latest.
