I have heard it said that Burial Ground is the best of the Italian Zombie movies, but I’m not so sure of that offhand. Did I like the movie? Yes, I did. I just think the movie does leave you a little bored in spots and there are times when the awkward ways of the characters seem to outshine our living dead that at least have cool look junk coming out of them when shot or damaged. This is no Dawn of the Dead, my friend. It isn’t even a Zombie 2. It might not be the most exciting at times, but it still holds your attention enough and does a fine job of being creepy when it needs to be.

There are points in the film where the creepiest stuff going down isn’t the zombies, I won’t spoil it for you, but it is all types of weird. The film gives off a bleak feeling from nearly the start and while some of the over-dubbing can be annoying it doesn’t really take away from the movie. What did kind of stink was the HD transfer. There is a lot of grain over this, especially in dark shots and sadly because of that much of the details is lost. So, we have a fine, somewhat slow, but very creepy movie that sadly has a bad transfer.
