Charlie Russell passes through the wilderness in the wake of an apocalyptic viral outbreak to reunite with his girlfriend, Samantha. As Charlie’s journey brings him closer to his destination of Wausau, WI, he must face physical exhaustion, malicious survivors, and perhaps most menacing, his own emotional burdens. With his new found traveling companions Charlie must attempt to break his obsessions with the past. He must learn to let it go.
Ok, so I’m going to set here and try to sell you on a zombie movie that essentially doesn’t have any zombies in it until around the last couple of minutes. Most the time when dealing with zombie/infected movies you have a lot of the movie dealing with the characters and the inner turmoil. Here, they seem to have skipped the actual zombie part and went with that alone. I’d be happy to go off on this act and talk about what a waste that is, but in this very rare case the film is good enough as it is to keep you interested and wanting to see how things go.
We basically watch a man as he tries to make it back to his girlfriend who is very far away. Along the way he meets up with people and that goes both good for a time and then bad. More bad things seem to happen as he refuses to let anything get in his way on his mission to be reunited with his woman. Maybe it isn’t perfect, but it is still entertaining enough and because that is the case I do suggest you guys seek it out and give it a good once over.
