In his search for the Lightbringer, Dracula crosses paths with a beautiful crusader named Alina who bears a remarkable resemblance to his murdered bride. One look at her and Dracula is immediately smitten. Could Alina be the reincarnation of his long-dead love?
Here we have another twist on the Dracula lore as we toss in some new elements. But I have to ask if we aren’t all Dracula’ed out by this point? The movie just doesn’t really do enough for me to keep my interest and I hate to say it, but I was bored at different times and that is never ever a good thing when trying to checkout a Dracula story. I don’t think the pace is a bad pace or anything, but I just don’t think anything memorable goes down here to really justify putting it up front and center.
While the film doesn’t seem to really excite me, I will say the actors did try at least. They worked with what they had to work with and no fault for this can be placed on them. I just don’t know how many more Dracula tales we can squeeze out of the lore. This one took a shot at something different and sadly just came up really short. I hate to be a buzz kill, but I’d think most of you will be alright if you just skip this one and look for something else.
