plot

In a distant galaxy three escaped female convicts crash land on a primitive world inhabited by a race of warlike apes. They fight for survival as the humanoid apes fight for their possession, body and soul. A daring escape is their only way out. Hot on their heels are the blood lusting gorillas and a prison warden bent on their return to the prison ship they escaped from.

It’s like a porno without porn. That is how a feel that looks like this and has women dressed up as they are here feels when you take things into perspective. There wasn’t a lot of money dumped into this thing, but that didn’t stop the film makers as we toss people in cheap costumes, monkey suits, and aline rooms with aluminum foil to create the outer worldly settings of Empire of the Apes. A film that I’m sure was created by a fan of Planet of the Apes and always wanted to make his own, only replace Charlton Heston with three hot women in skimpy outfits. It reminds me of something you’d find on VHS in the early 1990s. I’ll let you take that however you wish to take it in making up your own mind if you’d like to see this or not.

I don’t want to harp on people and their acting skills in a film like this, but you can rest a sure that nobody here involved with this movie will be winning any awards for their acting anytime soon. There’s conflict, there is bad looking ape masks, and there are what you probably expected just by seeing the name of the film and the box art. They say you can’t judge things by their covers, but that gut feeling you get from seeing the cover of this movie pretty much sums it all up nicely in ways my words can’t do justice.
