Those folks over at Shock Till You Drop got the scoop that the powers that be behind the next Friday the 13th film might be courting Tom Savini to direct. Savini is no stranger to the franchise having done fx for the original and fourth film.
(Shock reader “Pizowell”) said: “My camera died after shooting over 40 minutes of the Friday 4 panel discussion at Mad Monster Party, and just before Tom Savini announced that he was being “courted” to direct the next Friday the 13th movie. But you heard it here first, people: Tom Savini MAY be directing the next Friday.
Friday the 13th is due out March 13th 2015 and apparently they are having a time finding a director because most don’t like the found footage approach they want. Savini has directed films before having directed three episodes of the classic Tales from the Darkside, the 1990 version of Night of the Living Dead, and a most recently a segment in The Theater Bizaare.
