Tulsa Terrors (2025) (Special Edition) (VCI Entertainment) Blu-ray Review (Video)

Tulsa Terrors is a new documentary exploring the direct-to-video horror boom of the mid-1980s, which was sparked in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Spearheaded by United Entertainment–now VCI Entertainment–founder Bill Blair, the movement began with the shot-on-video film Blood Cult in 1985. Blair’s innovative idea to produce films exclusively for home video revolutionized the industry, leading to a wave of low-budget genre films that bypassed theatrical release. With insight from VCI’s current president, Bob Blair, and filmmaker Christopher Lewis, the documentary traces the rise of this niche market from its analog roots to its digital revival, spotlighting Tulsa’s unexpected role in global home entertainment history.
