Independent Vigilante & Revenge Thriller Now In Production in Central Maine!

AUGUSTA, ME – Vibe Video and Optic Verve Films, LLC have begun production on a new vigilante crime thriller, DEATH RECEIPT, being shot in and around Central Maine.

Logline:
After a misunderstanding leads to a horrifically brutal and violent attack on a small town family, a man finds himself left with nothing when his wife and young child are killed by a local gang. Finding himself broken and looking to get revenge on those who have taken everything important in his life, Tommy Butler has to learn the rules of the streets, and make his way through the underbelly of Wasterville, USA, looking to get his vengeance on those who’ve done him wrong.

A throwback to the revenge films that lined the shelves in the direct-to-video era of the 80s and 90s, such as Eye of the Tiger, Savage Streets, Walking Tall, and Death Wish, DEATH RECEIPT is co-written, co-produced, and co-directed by Bob Ferreira and Christopher Haase, and features actors  Michael C. Urchin (Troma’s Shakespear’s Shitstorm, Battle Legends: The Legend of Battle Master), Shane Grant (Sleep Eaters, Slaughter on the Set), Matt Enos (The Slim Duffy Show, Last Days in Waldo County), Felisia Grimm (The Carnage Collection), and Gary Void (Amityville Trailer Park, Skullcracker). The musical score is being produced by award winning composer and musician Mark Fox (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Shocking Truth)

Bob Ferreira is the award-winning director of The Carnage Collection (2015), which was the winner of the 2016 BANGore Film Festival in Bangor, ME. He is also the recipient of the Best New Director award at the 2016 TOXXIC Film Festival. He is also a producer on the upcoming horror film The Art of Killing from Alternative Cinema/Camp Motion Pictures.

Christopher Haase is the director and filmmaker behind Wasterville, and co-director on the upcoming release Skullcracker, both being produced under his Optic Verve Films banner.

Casting continues throughout August, and principal photography begins in early fall. The film has a planned release date of Spring 2025.
