Greetings my friends!…Or just readers? Friendship is a big step and I see how some of you might want to take things slow so we’ll just keep it at “readers” for now..
* As many of you I’m sure have noticed, I the last couple weekends have actually been away from the online world and as a result the weekends went without updates. While I have been home this weekend, and Friday had updates. I was afraid I wasn’t able to use my Saturday to get down to some major movie reviewing as I had wanted, and believe me I am FAR far behind.
What happened as I’m sure you’ll be hearing wherever you are, Tennessee had some MAJOR rain and storms yesterday and as a result the interstate was shutdown for a large part. People have actually died, some drowning in their own cars due to the high water, and I sit here now as watches and warnings are still in effect and probably won’t be lifted til Sunday night or Monday morning. So needless to say having to be on guard and keep up with the weather I didn’t get a lot done. But fear not, I’ll try to double time it this week.
Also for a short time the term I-40 (Interstate 40 here in Tennessee) was trending on Twitter..Big things poppin and it isn’t country music!
* While watching the local ABC channel keeping up with the news, At The Movies was on. I’ll be honest, I don’t know off hand the two reviewers that were on (they change so much) but they were talking about overrated and underrated horror films.
While I didn’t catch the first pick for overrated I did hear the dude go into detail about how boring and dull Bela Lugosi’s Dracula was. I’ve not seen that movie myself so I can’t comment on that. However, for underrated they picked Final Destination franchise and The Descent. I may agree on Final Destination as those movie made my fear of flying, driving on the interstate, and roller-coasters a lot worse. And I fully agree about The Descent..or at least about the first one. It is pretty shocking to think a lot of people have no clue what The Descent is.
* No, I have not seen A Nightmare on Elm Street yet! I may or may not see it before it hits DVD it just all depends. While I like the old A Nightmare on Elm Street a whole whole lot. I wasn’t as pleased with all the sequels and as a kid that grew up during all that I’m just over the whole Freddy business. That’s why I posted a link to old Freddy stuff on here instead of rolling out a red and greet stripped carpet for the movie..because I really could care less about another Elm Street film, reboot or not.
Get me another Freddy vs. Jason and we can get the hype machine rolling.
* While I’m sure most of you won’t care (and you shouldn’t) I’m trying to keep my personal blog CHUCK-A-MANIA! updated more and if you wish to follow me on that feel free to. However, be warned in advance that I will probably just be bitching about women.
Well that’s th-th-th-th-th-that’s all folks! Lets hope I get my game-face on for the week and get you guys something good to read!
