Five youngsters who just wanted to spend a nice weekend among friends in a manor will find a far less peaceful place than they expected when faced with a family curse and a sadistic ruthless killer. Last Caress is directed by the promising duo François Gaillard and Christophe Robin, whose debut movie, Blackaria, has been overwhelmingly acclaimed in many festivals. A true exploitation movie with a European touch; Last Caress mixes steamy eroticism, extreme violence, thrilling suspense and visual experimentation.
Last Caress is an explosion of Italian gillao cinema. That does mean that we see a lot of the same styled scenes and kills we’ve seen in classic giallo films, but it is still awesome in its execution and its delivery. We got beautiful women being killed off in some very graphic ways and it is all done with an awesome style and set to an even more awesome soundtrack.
This is a movie that came out in its own country a few years back and is just now making its way here to the states. And, if I can be so bold to go ahead and say that in my book it is a top 10 end of the year film. Time isn’t wasted, the blood flies, and we also have plenty of eye candy running around with a cool looking killer after them. You may have never heard of this movie before now, but you need to check it out ASAP.
